Law of Attraction Feelings Guide:
Handling Anger and Resentment
Universal Law of Attraction based self improvement ideas for anger management.
Sibling rivalry, political disappointments, workplace issues, abuse, betrayal, and infidelity are just a few of the many reasons that people have for harboring feelings of anger and resentment. Although anger is an emotion that is as natural as any other, it has a tendency to eat away at the soul of the person who does not understand its role in their lives.
Anger has its place and everyone will experience it. In fact, this emotion is highly beneficial to us at times. However, you do yourself a grave disservice by remaining angry. Holding onto anger until it becomes bitter resentment is a fail-safe way to disallow the benefits of Universal Law of Attraction. Ask yourself if that is what you want.
You may be justified in your disapproval of the circumstances or events that led to your anger. Maybe someone was unfair, inconsiderate, or downright evil to you. You may have been 100% right and they may have been 100% wrong; but the person causing the most harm to you now is none other than you.
Your anger is not harming the person to whom it is directed. In fact, many people spend decades being angry with someone who barely (if at all) remembers the event that caused the anger. That person’s life will not be changed by your anger, but yours will.
By not overcoming what you think and feel about the circumstances surrounding your anger, you give up your own power. You hold yourself in a state of mind that is not in alignment with your life purpose. The resistant thoughts that fill your mind will make it difficult, and oftentimes impossible, for law of attraction to manifest your desires. The key question: Are they worth it? Are the people who have wronged you worth the price that you are paying?
The first step to changing something in your life is to understand it, so here are a few tips to assist you on the journey towards a healthy relationship with anger:
- Put anger in its place.
One thing to remember is that anger is a useful emotion that has its place in our lives. Don’t be afraid to follow your Inner Guidance when you are being called from a state of depression to one of anger. In such a case, you are making an improvement in the way you feel. And Universal Law of Attraction will support your continuous rise toward emotions that feel better.
The unhealthiest emotion for you is that feeling of powerless depression or despair. However, many people are taught that it is better to run off and feel sorry for yourself than to get angry. Why? Because it is convenient for the person who doesn’t want to witness your anger.
Depression, which often results from repressed anger, is actually anger in a new form. It is anger turned inwards. And that is the worst thing that you could do to yourself. So, allow yourself to feel anger, hatred, or even rage for a short while. Draw pictures of the person and scratch their eyes out if you feel like it. Scream, yell, cry, or jump up and down. Have an angry pillow fight with your sofa. Do whatever you must do to honor and validate your own feelings, but plan to move on for your own benefit.
- Forgiveness is the answer.
Many people refuse to forgive because they feel that the other person does not deserve it. They hold a grudge as if it is somehow paying back the person with whom they are angry. However, forgiveness is not for the other person. You must let go and forgive so that you may live out your life purpose.
You came into this physical world to experience outrageous joy while using your powerfully creative thoughts to contribute to the expansion of our great Universe. And the ability to do so is always within you. Yes, you also have the ability to spend your entire life being angry, but this choice will create life experiences that are not in harmony with what you want.
“To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.” – Lewis Smedes
- It is not what they did, but what you think about what they did.
Universal Law of Attraction does not respond to what you do--it responds to what you think. And your feelings are always a reflection of what you have been thinking. Your feelings are not the result of anything outside of yourself, so do not hold anyone else responsible for them. If you are thinking angry thoughts that hold you away from that which your Inner Guidance is calling you towards, you will feel bad.
No matter what has happened, you remain in control of your reality. You are empowered to practice the art of allowing by releasing resistant thoughts and letting Universal Law of Attraction deliver your ideal life. However, you are equally empowered to remain angry, thus using undesirable circumstances as an excuse to disallow the joyful life that is your birthright.
“Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.”- Buddha
- Move rather than jump up the emotional scale.
You don’t have to, and probably won’t be able to, make a big jump from anger to joy. Be patient with yourself. If you’ve been thinking angry thoughts for a very long time, you will not be able to completely change this overnight. The important thing is just that you start making some improvements.
The law of attraction will send thoughts to match whatever you are thinking, so trust that you will have the support of the Universe as you guide your thoughts towards that which feels better. You may move up from anger to worry, from worry to disappointment, from disappointment to frustration, from frustration to hopefulness, from hopefulness to positive expectation, and from positive expectation to joy. It doesn’t matter how many different emotions you experience on your journey, but you will notice life changing results at every step of the way. Keep your eyes open for small opportunities to appreciate and you will attract joy, happiness, love, and everything that you desire for your life.
“Hanging onto resentment is letting someone you despise live rent-free in your head” –Ann Landers
- It’s all about your vibration.
Because the Universal Law of Attraction is responding to the vibration of your thoughts, you are always in control. However, your thoughts need to be a “vibrational match” to your desires in order to experience the benefits of your creative power. Angry thoughts, which have a very low thought vibration, add resistance that prevents or delays manifestations. In other words, your anger towards a person or situation may cause you to have undesirable experiences in other areas of your life.
At any moment, however, you can choose to think about a situation differently or you can think about something else altogether. It only takes 68 seconds of focusing on a subject for the Universe to begin sending similar thoughts. And as you continue thinking thoughts that feel better, you will manifest circumstances that make it easier to think and feel great. This is how you create your reality.
If you allow angry thoughts to fester in your mind, realize that you are the one creating your misery. Also realize that you are fully empowered to change it when you are ready. You owe it to yourself to have thoughts that summon law of attraction in a non-resistant way, thus creating the life of your dreams.
“For every minute you are angry you lose sixty seconds of happiness.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson
